April 25th-Cooking Class with Onion Creek Kitchen-Arboretum-6:30

Con’ Olio has teamed up with Sibby Barrett of Onion Creek Kitchens at Juniper Hills to bring you a cooking demo, featuring our Extra Virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars. The class will begin with an introduction on the basics of oils and vinegars, followed by a demonstration by Sibby Barrett as she creates a four course menu for the class to enjoy. The specially crafted menu, featuring Con’ Olio’s very own oils and vinegars, features courses such as:

Orecchiette Pasta with Kale Raisins & Onions

Kale Apple Walnut Blue Cheese Salad with Red Apple Vinaigrette

Baby Potatoes with Arugula Parmesan Lemon Pesto

Fresh Berries with Balsamic Vinegar

Chilled water and artisan bread will also be served. You are welcome to purchase a bottle of wine before the event as well. After the event we will open up our shop for your own personal tasting tour.

A few reminders about reservations. The workshop is $40 plus fees per person. Once you have purchased a ticket,  an email reminder will be sent to you which you should bring with you to class. All purchases are final and we are unable to issue any refunds. We look forward to seeing you!

Sibby brings her extensive culinary passions to the Texas Hill Country. In 2001, shortly after her ranch home, Juniper Hills Farm, was completed, Sibby began facilitating Yoga retreats and cooking weekends. In her own “Onion Creek Kitchens”, she now offers a full curriculum of cooking classes. She has also developed a line of spice mixes and a specialty of the house condiment, "Salsa Verde Italiano" which we are proud to carry in our shops!

This area of the Hill Country is ripe with opportunities for the food lover. The high concentration of food and agriculture related businesses make this an ideal destination for the food connoisseur. Goat cheese farms, flower farms, olive groves, wineries, peach orchards, herb and lettuce farms are all close in proximity. For Classes and Dining Events, Sibby makes a great effort to utilize and highlight these growers in her menus. For special, private tours, students can accompany her from farm to orchard to vineyard to gather what they will prepare for the evening meal in her renowned "Hill Country Excursions and Random Acts of Cooking" events.
